Who I am

I am a Medical Herbalist with additional training in Endobiogeny — an integrative systems-biology approach to understanding chronic health problems.

Before training in Herbal Medicine, I worked for over 10 years in scientific research in chemistry and formulation science.

This background strongly shapes my clinical approach: I combine traditional Western Herbal Medicine with analytical physiological assessments to understand the regulatory causes behind chronic conditions.

With my education and experience as a herbalist with a scientific background, I have a unique understanding of how to match the healing properties of herbs and food to your specific presentation, grounded in a deep understanding of modern systems physiology.

Why I practice Herbal Medicine

Since childhood, I was driven by a desire to make a tangible contribution to people’s quality of life through my work: this is why I chose a career in science and I pursued applied research for a number of years; I then felt the need to be able to have a more immediate impact on people’s life and a career in Medical Herbalism offered me the ability to do so, by helping individuals regaining their health on a case-by-case basis.

During my training as a Medical Herbalist, I became increasingly interested in the gap between laboratory diagnostics and how people actually experience illness.

Many people suffer persistent symptoms even when their blood tests appear normal. Often they do not receive a clear diagnosis, or the care they are looking for, and turn to Herbal Medicine as an alternative or complementary solution.

The practice of Herbal Medicine offers healing routes grounded in a sound clinical assessment combined with extensive experience in both traditional and scientifically-backed use of botanicals.

Endobiogeny provides a framework to detect, measure and interpret early physiological imbalances and intervene before they develop into disease.

My clinical work is informed by Endobiogeny: a scientific, integrative physiological approach that helps identify how regulatory systems such as hormones and the nervous system influence long-term health patterns.

When you come to me for help, I start by understanding your body constitution, predispositions, emotions, medical history, and life circumstances.

This allows me to create a bespoke, personalized prescription and management plan that includes herbal therapy, nutrition and lifestyle advice.

Your first appointment will typically last one hour, during which we will discuss in depth your current situation, your wellbeing goals and a personalised plan of action to enable you to reach them.

We can meet in person or remotely, by video-call, depending on location and availability.

I can offer face-to-face appointments in Reading, UK, at The Practice Rooms Centre, or arrange at-home visits if you are a resident in Sonning Common or Rotherfield Peppard villages.
